The central administration of the Riga municipality paid nearly half a million euros in bonuses and allowances in the last months of the year, as reported by the LETA agency at the Riga City Council.
In accordance with the Law on the Remuneration of Officials and Employees of State and Municipal Institutions, based on the annual performance evaluation and its results, an employee may receive a bonus not exceeding 75% of their monthly salary.
Additionally, within the financial resources allocated to the institution, a monetary reward may be paid that does not exceed the monthly salary in the calendar year, and which is assessed based on the achievements of the employee or the institution.
In the central administration, from October to December, bonuses totaling 293,321 euros were paid to 198 employees.
Monetary rewards were paid to 203 employees amounting to 177,556 euros.
Thus, a total of 470,877 euros was paid out in the form of bonuses and allowances.
The specific amount of bonuses and monetary rewards for each employee was determined by the head of the respective structural unit.
Elected officials, deputies, committee chairs, and the leadership of the council did not receive bonuses or monetary rewards and were not entitled to them.
