The work of the ministers will be evaluated at the beginning of next year, said Prime Minister Evika Silina after a meeting at the Riga Castle with President Edgars Rinkēvičs.
In the first months of the year, an evaluation of the government's work is conducted, after which a general assessment of the ministers' activities can be given.
As Silina noted, specific tasks were set for each minister, and the results of their implementation varied.
According to the Prime Minister, in the area of reducing bureaucracy, the difficulties arose because the Saeima did not always support the proposals of the government, working groups, non-governmental organizations, and entrepreneurs, and discussions often shifted to a broader political context, resulting in the planned decisions not being implemented as quickly.
Silina emphasized that issues of reducing bureaucracy should be more clearly separated from the formation of new policies, and these difficulties cannot be attributed to the work of one specific minister. At the same time, she reported that an agreement had been reached with the Saeima's commission on public administration and local governments to consider such issues on an expedited basis.
The Prime Minister stressed that discussions with the ministers about the work done will definitely take place. She reminded that in the spring there was a "restart" of the government's work, and results have been achieved in many areas.
As an example, the Prime Minister cited work in the field of demographics, the development of entrepreneurship, and attracting additional investments, noting that negotiations with entrepreneurs, the banking, and non-banking sectors have yielded tangible results. At the same time, Silina acknowledged that there are areas where work needs to continue.
