Exactly one year has passed since the parliamentary investigative commission completed its work on the reasons for the failure in the implementation of Rail Baltica. Following its work, the commission put forward a number of initiatives, but now the opposition in the Saeima has stated that nothing has been done in the past year. A request was submitted to both the Prime Minister and the Minister of Transport. Today, during the plenary session, the request from the United List deputies was rejected, although the deputies presented the head of government with quite justified claims. Judge for yourself.

"We wanted to know: first — how will the route proceed, second — on July 1, there was an instruction from Ms. Silina to present a report to the government on the maximum allowable financial ceiling for the project's implementation and attracting private investments, and what this financing will look like - 85 and 15 percent. July 1 has long passed, and there is still no report. And on November 1, a technical analysis on attracting these investments and a decision on the stops - Upeslejas, Riga Central Station, and the international airport 'Riga'... This document is also missing. We also noted at the investigative commission that the agreement for the three countries... through three countries is outdated. It contains completely legally inaccurate information. This intergovernmental agreement needs to be amended. The content of it completely does not correspond to what is currently being built. These changes need to be made. There has been no action in this regard either.

Simply put, there are specific questions that the Minister of Transport cannot answer, which the Prime Minister should answer. Just as the Prime Ministers of Lithuania and Estonia have taken the Rail Baltica project under their wing.

We still have nothing. A year! A year has passed, and not a single item has been fulfilled, not even an attempt was made to fulfill it. The only thing we received in the Saeima after a year is the 'Rail Baltica' law. At least something has come, but the law is so weak, there is nothing... what we actually asked for.
