No surprises: the Siliņa government passed the test.
It took deputies two working days to adopt the budget-2026 and the budget package consisting of 47 bills. The total duration of the session, including breaks, was 24.5 hours! But the desired result for the government of Siliņa was achieved - at 21:26, the budget was adopted with 52 votes in favor! All coalition deputies and three independent deputies - Igor Raev, Oleg Burov, and Skaidrīte Abrama - voted for the budget.
Before the vote, Prime Minister Evika Siliņa thanked her team of ministers and deputies, reminding them that this is already the third budget during her government’s term.
According to rumors, encouraged by this success, the “green farmers” have already reconsidered their decision to dismantle the current government. However, negotiations on how to proceed will be held by the ruling party next week.
