The opposition MP warns: in a critical moment, we will no longer be able to take a loan...
Edgars Tavars, the leader of the parliamentary faction of the United List, noted in an interview with TV-24 that Latvia has "accumulated debts of cosmic proportions" in recent years, and that next year, servicing the debt will cost the state almost 700 million euros. "And by 2030, we will be paying over 1 billion for servicing!" the opposition politician emphasized, reminding that the government plans to borrow almost 2 billion euros next year. Meanwhile, expenses are hardly being reduced.
"If this continues, in a critical situation, when we really need loans urgently, we simply won’t be able to take them," warned E. Tavars.
