As of the end of June this year, the largest number of employees in government institutions was in the State Police, where 5286 people were employed, according to aggregated data from the State Chancellery, reports LETA.
At the same time, the number of staff in the State Police was significantly higher — 6880.
In the State Revenue Service, as of the end of June, there were 3323 employees, with the number of staff units amounting to 3643.
In the Emergency Medical Service, as of the end of June, there were 3299 employees, while the number of staff units was lower — 3182.
Overall, in government institutions, as of the end of June, there were 44,764 employees, and the total number of staff units was 49,684.1. Compared to the end of December 2024, the number of employed persons increased by 1.8%, while the number of staff units increased by 0.4%.
