The Chair of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, will open the second day of the Riga Conference on Security and Foreign Policy today, as well as meet with Prime Minister Evika Siliņa and the Speaker of the Saeima of Latvia, Daiga Mieriņa.
As reported to LETA by the press secretary of the European Parliament in Latvia, Kristīne Liepiņa, Metsola will meet with the Speaker of the Saeima at 9 a.m.
After that, Metsola will visit the University of Latvia, where she will open the second day of the Riga Conference, meet with Latvian MEPs, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže.
The next stop of the visit will be the Riga Technical University (RTU), where Metsola will meet with students to discuss issues relevant to youth in the context of Latvia and the European Union.
At 1 p.m., a meeting is scheduled between the President of the EP and Prime Minister Evika Siliņa, followed by a joint press conference at 1:35 p.m. After the press conference, Metsola and Siliņa will visit a military base in Adazi.
