Today, a traditional herbal market will take place at Dome Square in Riga, the Riga City Council reported.
Throughout the day, herbs for Jāņi, crafts by artisans, and summer gifts will be available for purchase at the square, as well as a program on stage.
At 18:00, the event "Sing, Sister, Jāņi Songs!" will take place in the garden of the Cultural Center "Small Guild," featuring cheese-making, summer solstice rituals, and teaching of Līgo songs. Choirs, the women's folklore ensemble "Vilcenes," and the ensemble "Kokļu klubs" will perform.
At the Cultural Center "Imanta," a summer solstice celebration will be held at 19:00, featuring performances by dance groups from Pardaugava, a festive bonfire, wreath weaving, and a concert by the vocal ensemble "Fortuna."
