On Wednesday, starting in the morning, the northwestern wind in Latvia will significantly strengthen, with the strongest gusts in some places breaking trees, meteorologists warn.
Gusts of wind up to 15–20 meters per second are expected across the country, with gusts reaching up to 23 meters per second in some areas in the east under rain and hail clouds.
The sky will be partly cloudy, with brief rain showers in some places, more precipitation expected in the eastern regions, where thunderstorms and hail are also anticipated.
The air temperature will drop to +6..+11 degrees by the end of the night, and during the day it will not exceed +11..+15 degrees.
In Riga, on the last Wednesday of May, there will be slight and variable cloudiness, with a possibility of brief rain. The speed of the northwestern wind will increase to 20 meters per second during the day. The air temperature at night and during the day will be +10..+13 degrees.
