In the coming days, it will become noticeably warmer in Latvia: by Friday and Saturday, the air will warm up to +23 degrees in some places. However, meteorologists warn that the weather situation remains unstable, and a new cooling is possible at the beginning of next week.
After cool and rainy weather, warming is expected in Latvia. According to current forecasts, air temperatures will begin to gradually rise starting Thursday.
However, the upcoming night will remain cold. With clear skies, temperatures may drop to +2..+7 degrees, and in some areas, frost is expected on the grass.
During the day on Thursday, the air will warm up to +13..+18 degrees.
Meteorologists predict a real warming for Friday and Saturday. In many regions of the country, temperatures will rise to +18..+23 degrees, although it will be noticeably cooler by the sea.
Little precipitation is expected in the coming days. Cloud cover will remain variable, and brief rain with thunderstorms is possible mainly in Kurzeme.
More extensive areas of precipitation may arrive in Latvia on Saturday and Sunday.
What is important to know: the weather is currently very sensitive to wind direction. It will depend on this whether almost summer heat will come to the country or if coolness from the Baltic Sea will return.
Meteorologists note that by the end of the week, Latvia will find itself on the border between colder air masses in western Europe and hot air in the east.
If the wind shifts to the east, air temperatures in some areas of the country could approach +30 degrees. However, the probability of such a scenario remains low for now.
It is more likely that the wind will remain from the north or northwest, bringing cooler maritime air.
After a prolonged cool spring, even a brief warming can significantly change the weather feeling, especially in the central and eastern parts of the country.
