The Latvian Association of Dental Students (LZSA) is conducting "Gum Health Days" in May in close cooperation with the Latvian Association of Periodontologists (LPA).
The event takes place in May in two stages.
The first stage is almost fantastic, during which dentists and hygienists across Latvia are invited to voluntarily conduct free medical examinations of patients in their clinics from May 11 to 15 to timely identify periodontitis.
The second stage is more specific and clear - it will take place on May 9 from 10:00 to 13:00 at the Institute of Dentistry of the Stradins University in Riga. This will be a free gum examination for adults.
Registration for the free check-up is available on the LPA website, as well as on the social media of LPA (Facebook and Instagram) and LZSA (Facebook and Instagram).
At the same time, the organizers clarify that within the framework of the campaign, only screening diagnostics, that is, examination, is provided for free.
Gum Health Day is an initiative of the European Federation of Periodontology, which has been held since 2014. This year, the Latvian Association of Periodontologists has joined this initiative for the seventh time, while the Latvian Association of Dental Students has joined for the first time.
