The Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB) has begun assessing the information that has recently emerged regarding the participation of "New Unity" politicians in a seminar in Italy.
According to Latvijas Televīzija, most ministers of the "New Unity" party, including the head of government, the deputy mayor of Riga, the chairman of the faction in the Saeima, and other parliament members, went to Italy for a vacation at the end of the past working week.
It is reported that the politicians participated in a seminar organized by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation at Lake Como. The foundation does not disclose the expenses for the trip and also does not specify which representatives of the political force were invited.
The main funding for the Konrad Adenauer Foundation comes from the German budget. What did the Germans pay for?
