The company 'Rēzeknes namsaimnieks' plans to dismantle interfering and unremoved television antennas on the roofs of apartment buildings, the agency LETA was informed by the company.
The management company has recently been receiving more and more requests from residents for repairs to roofs or chimneys in small residential buildings. A problem has been identified — antennas are installed on the roofs or attached to the chimneys, which hinder the work.
"Unfortunately, we have to admit that most often antennas on the roofs are installed by individual residents on their own initiative without coordination with 'Rēzeknes namsaimnieks' and other apartment owners. Moreover, many of these antennas have not been operational for a long time but still remain on the roof," commented the head of the company, Juna Konstantinova, urging antenna owners to resolve this issue.
If the antenna is still in use, its owner must obtain the consent of other apartment owners through voting for it to remain on the roof. The roof and chimney are common property, so any actions affecting the structures without coordination are unacceptable, the company emphasizes.
If the antenna is no longer in use, 'Rēzeknes namsaimnieks' urges owners to take responsibility and remove unnecessary structures from the roof or chimney.
If the antennas hinder repair work and their owners do not coordinate, relocate, or dismantle them within the specified time, 'Rēzeknes namsaimnieks' will do so at its own expense, and the costs will be covered from the building's reserve fund.
"We hope that residents who once installed antennas on the roof without coordinating with neighbors and the management company will take responsibility. It is unfair for all residents of the building to pay for someone else's unauthorized actions, especially if it delays or hinders necessary repair work," emphasized Konstantinova.
According to 'Firmas.lv', the turnover of the municipal enterprise Rēzekne 'Rēzeknes namsaimnieks' last year was nearly 3 million euros, and losses reached 93,700 euros.
