In the coming nights, the air temperature in many areas will drop to -3 degrees, while during the day, positive temperatures will prevail across the country, contributing to further melting of the snow, reports the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
At the beginning of the week, similar weather conditions will persist - the sky will be predominantly cloudy, with occasional clearings, and the sun will appear.
Light precipitation is expected at times - mainly rain and wet snow, with localized freezing rain possible on Tuesday. On Monday, the wind will change direction to the west and southwest. Along the coast, it will be gusty. At night, the air temperature will drop to +2…-3 degrees. During the day, the maximum air temperature is expected to be between +1…+6 degrees; in some places, with clearings, the air will warm up by another degree or two, resulting in rapid melting of the snow cover.
From the second half of the week, the influence of the anticyclone will strengthen - with rising atmospheric pressure, the sky will become clearer more often, there will be little precipitation, and the wind will be weak. At night, the air temperature will predominantly be negative - dropping to -1…-7 degrees; however, during the day, with sunny weather, thermometers in some places will reach +10 degrees.
