Patients are dissatisfied: there is nowhere safe to leave outerwear at the Salaspils Health Center

Zane contacted the editorial office of the program "Bez Tabu" (TV3) expressing her dissatisfaction that there is no safe place to leave outerwear at the Salaspils Health and Social Care Center.

Zane is outraged that at the health and social care center in Salaspils, patients have to leave their outerwear on communal hangers in a publicly accessible area, writes TV3. Furthermore, there is a notice on the wall stating that the medical institution is not responsible for items left behind.

"At the same time, it is prohibited to enter doctors' offices in street clothes, which puts patients in a contradictory and uncomfortable situation — there are requirements, but the appropriate conditions to meet them are not provided," Zane pointed out.

The management of the Salaspils Health and Social Care Center stated in a written response that a cloakroom will indeed be available — during the renovation, the reception has been temporarily moved to other premises, and one registration workstation has been set up in the area where the cloakroom was previously located.

"During the reconstruction, two separate places for leaving outerwear are available to visitors — in the basement and on the first floors. Both areas are equipped with video surveillance. Until now, the administration of the Salaspils Health Center has not received complaints about the availability of places for leaving outerwear or their use. We apologize to visitors for the inconvenience caused by the reconstruction and thank them for their understanding," the institution stated.

Patients will have to endure for a while longer — the renovation is expected to be completed by the fall of this year. After its completion, visitors will have access to a modern, safe, and comfortable entrance area with a full cloakroom and other necessary infrastructure in close proximity to the entrance.
