The Ministry of Defense is constructing sites for the storage and servicing of armored vehicles in several locations in Latvia, the Ministry of Defense reported.
The development of the infrastructure of the National Armed Forces (NAF), including the construction of sites for armored vehicles, is taking place throughout Latvia in accordance with the NAF development plans. The construction of sites for armored vehicles is being carried out gradually, according to the schedule.
The cost of each site depends on the market price per square meter, and the size and configuration are planned taking into account the needs of the specific battalion and the location of access roads, the ministry noted.
As reported, a new site for the placement and servicing of "Patria" armored vehicles was recently built in Kuldiga.
The facility is a fenced and paved area with all the necessary infrastructure.
The site is equipped with a stormwater drainage system, connected to the power grid, and illuminated, ensuring its safe use even at night. Tents can also be set up on the premises to provide temporary accommodation for personnel.
The total cost of the project was approximately 718,000 euros.
