Parents of students at Riga's Ilguciems Primary School contacted the Bez Tabu program (TV3) to find out when the school would finally have an accessible cloakroom. It has been under renovation for a long time, so students have no place to leave their outerwear — they have to carry it with them in backpacks or bags.

At Ilguciems Primary School, children from grades 1 to 9 study — all of them are dressed for winter: in warm outerwear, hats, and scarves, with some even carrying sports bags. Initially, it was promised that the cloakroom would be ready by September of the previous school year, but for unclear reasons, there has been a delay, resulting in the cloakroom still being unavailable.

The school administration considered the possibility of setting up a cloakroom in another classroom or installing a temporary one, but this could not be realized. The principal is eager to show the facilities and leads to the renovated cloakroom — before the renovation, it was in critical condition. Now the room is ready — only lockers need to be installed.

This is why students had to carry their jackets with them from class to class. The installation of lockers is planned to be completed by January 19.
