On Tuesday morning, due to snow and icy conditions, traffic is difficult on all major roads in Latvia, according to information from Latvijas valsts ceļi (LVC), as reported by LETA.
On the map of Latvijas valsts ceļi (LVC), the only section of the main road with satisfactory traffic conditions is currently marked as the stretch of the Vidzeme highway from Sigulda to Augšlīgatne. On all other routes, difficult traffic conditions should be taken into account.
Traffic is also difficult on regional roads throughout Latvia.
Snow-covered sections of the roads are being cleared and treated with anti-skid materials. To improve traffic conditions, 125 units of winter service equipment are involved in the road works.
