The actual unemployment rate in Latvia reached 6.9%

At the end of November, the actual unemployment rate in Latvia was 6.9%, which is 0.1 percentage points higher than the same period last year, according to data from the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB).

Over the month, the actual unemployment rate in Latvia, according to the CSB, also increased by 0.1 percentage points.

The unemployment rate among women remained unchanged in November at 5.7%, while the unemployment rate among men increased by 0.1 percentage points to 8.1%.

In November, there were 66,300 unemployed people in Latvia, which is about 600 more than in October and 2,900 more than in November 2024. Over the month, the number of unemployed men increased by about 500, totaling 38,600, while the number of unemployed women increased by 200, totaling 27,800.

The unemployment rate registered with the State Employment Agency (SEA) at the end of November was 4.8%: it increased by 0.1 percentage points since October, while compared to November 2024, the registered unemployment rate decreased by 0.3 percentage points.
