Ice Dancing: Yesterday, dozens of patients visited the Trauma Hospital

Due to slippery streets, many patients were admitted to the Trauma and Orthopedics Hospital yesterday, reports LETA, citing data from the institution.

The hospital reported an increase in "ice-related" injuries, particularly in the areas of the wrists, ankles, knee joints, as well as the hips and hip joints. Most commonly, these involve fractures, sprains, and bruises. They are primarily caused by slippery streets.

By 5 PM, the emergency department of the hospital had already received 55 patients, seven of whom were hospitalized. The majority of those who sought help sustained their injuries on the ice.

The hospital notes that such injuries are particularly dangerous for elderly individuals, as they are associated with the risk of hip and pelvic fractures. Therefore, elderly people should stay home in such weather and, if possible, ask relatives to bring them what they need.
