NATO Iron Spear Exercises Concluded at Adazi Range

The NATO "Iron Spear" exercises, which took place from November 17 to 21 at the Adazi range, have concluded, representatives of the NATO Multinational Brigade in Latvia reported to LETA.

The "Iron Spear" exercises involved tank crews and infantry fighting vehicles from the NATO Multinational Brigade in Latvia, as well as from multinational NATO battle groups stationed in Estonia and Lithuania. NATO forces deployed in the three Baltic countries improved their ability to effectively integrate the combat potential of heavy equipment for joint defensive tasks in a competitive format.

Overall, crews from 11 NATO member countries jointly carried out tactical exercises and live-fire tasks, demonstrating a high level of combat readiness and professionalism. The exercises focused on the interoperability of allied forces, enhancing the Alliance's units' capabilities to operate effectively together.

The commander of the Multinational Brigade in Latvia, Christopher Reeves, noted that the joint training of armored units from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania during the "Iron Spear" exercises demonstrates cooperation and mutual integration among NATO member states. He emphasized that such exercises reaffirm the collective commitment of the countries to strengthen the security of the Baltic region and the entire Alliance.

The "Iron Spear" exercises included tank crews and infantry fighting vehicles from the United States, Canada, Spain, Italy, Denmark, Poland, Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and France.
