Riga Eastern Clinical University Hospital (RAKUS) shared truly joyful news: "At the Eastern Hospital, we witnessed a truly touching and exciting event — our doctors helped bring new life into the world."
As reported by the hospital, a 19-year-old patient came to the Emergency Medicine and Patient Reception Clinic (NMPUK) in labor, but transportation to a specialized maternity facility was no longer possible.
"With the participation of the NMPUK medical team, a beautiful girl was born in our hospital at 16:42," the statement said.
"Although delivering babies is not part of our everyday practice, our team is ready for any challenges to help people when needed," emphasized NMPUK head Alexey Vishnyakov.
In collaboration with the Emergency Medical Service, the mother and newborn were subsequently transported to another medical facility.
"Our team expresses gratitude for the successful cooperation with the team of neonatologists from the Specialized Medical Center, who promptly arrived with an incubator for transporting newborns, intended for such cases, and provided the necessary assistance," the hospital added.
The hospital staff wishes health to the young mother and her daughter!
RAKUS also expresses gratitude to the NMPUK team for their professionalism and dedication: "We know that everyone who seeks help can always rely on you!"
