Maintain Distance: Increased Movement of NATO Military Equipment Expected

From today until November 10, the multinational NATO brigade in Latvia is conducting the active phase of the "Resolute Warrior" exercises, during which intensive movement of allied military equipment is planned on state and regional roads in the vicinity of Daugavpils, Jekabpils, Madona, and Selija.

The movement of military equipment will take place along pre-planned and coordinated routes. Military convoys on state and regional roads will be accompanied by military police transport, state police, and the National Armed Forces movement coordination center.

Drivers are urged to maintain distance near military equipment and not to overtake convoys, while residents are asked to be understanding of possible temporary inconveniences.

The "Resolute Warrior" exercises are taking place from October 15 to November 12 in Riga, its surroundings, in Vidzeme, Zemgale, and Latgale. The aim of the exercises is to enhance the capabilities of the multinational brigade units to perform tasks throughout Latvia - both in populated areas and beyond. The exercise scenario includes testing the ability to quickly and coordinatedly relocate combat equipment and units from their permanent base in Adazi to various regions of Latvia, while scheduled flights of aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles are conducted in the airspace.
