Starting today, the location of the final stop of the 3rd trolleybus in the Riga district of Sarkandaugava will be relocated, reported LETA agency, citing the head of the public relations department of "Rīgas satiksme," Baiba Bartashevicha-Feldmane.
The final stop will be moved from Tilta Street to Sliežu Street — near the Sarkandaugava railway station. The relocation is related to construction work for the creation of a transport hub.
Accordingly, the movement of the 3rd trolleybus will be organized according to a temporary schedule. In the direction of Sarkandaugava, trolleybuses will follow the route to Tilta Street, then along Tilta and Sliežu Streets to Simanī Street, where they will turn around at a new turnaround area near the railway station and stop at the relocated stop.
In the direction of the city center, trolleybuses will operate along Sliežu Street, Tilta Street, and then along the usual route.
To ensure better coordination between train and trolleybus movements, the departures of trolleybuses from both final stops have been changed.
Considering the request from the residents of Kundziņsala, an additional trip will be introduced on weekdays at 7:36 from Kundziņsala.
In the direction from the Central Market to Kundziņsala, the trolleybus will now also stop at the "Sarkandaugava" stop on Tilta Street.
