Radio Caroline apologized for the erroneous announcement of the death of King Charles III of the United Kingdom during a live broadcast. The radio's statement was published on Facebook.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of May 19. As reported by The Independent, Radio Caroline, broadcasting in England, announced the death of Charles III and played the anthem "God Save the King."
Then the broadcast was interrupted, the hosts announced a suspension of the regular program, and the radio went silent for 15 minutes.
The station manager, Peter Moore, explained that the incident occurred due to a computer error. It was noticed and the broadcast was interrupted.
"In our main studio, the 'Monarch's Death' procedure was accidentally activated, which all British stations keep on standby, hoping to avoid its use," he said.
Charles III was born on November 14, 1948. He is currently 77 years old. For his age, he appears to be quite healthy.
