The Brit inherited 500 antique lawnmowers from his father.

A resident of the United Kingdom, who inherited a collection of 500 antique lawnmowers, admitted that he now faces difficulties in choosing when it comes time to mow the lawn. This was reported by York Press.

49-year-old Jonathan Hardwick, a gardener and landscape designer, has become the owner of one of the largest collections of vintage garden equipment in the UK. The Brit inherited 500 lawnmowers that his father, Stan Hardwick, a former golf club keeper, collected for over 35 years. The collection, worth tens of thousands of pounds, is housed in nine sheds, a double garage, and even in rooms of the house where Stan's widow lives.

The oldest specimens date back to the 19th century, and the rarest model, the 1861 Shanks, is valued at five thousand pounds sterling (approximately 640,000 rubles). Among the exhibits are other unique items, such as a roller triple lawnmower Shanks from the mid-1920s.

Jonathan, who started tinkering with the equipment alongside his father at the age of 10, vowed to preserve and even expand the collection. "The hardest part is keeping them from rusting. I am very proud of the collection; it is a piece of British history. Every time I walk through the door, they remind me of my father," the Brit said.
