A Canadian resident lost 136 kilograms thanks to the decision to never give up.
Canadian resident Jesse Malley lost 136 kilograms over four years and revealed the secrets of his success. This is reported by Daily Mail.
Malley began to gain weight rapidly while working remotely in tech support and struggling with a gaming addiction. During that time, he hardly moved and ate only unhealthy food. This led to a point where even his home scales could not register his weight — he was too heavy. According to Malley, he weighed around 254 kilograms at that time.
The man repeatedly went on diets but constantly relapsed and only gained more weight. Everything changed in October 2022 when he stumbled upon a YouTube video titled "Seven Reasons Why You Can't Lose Weight." The main takeaway Malley got from this video was to never give up. "Even if progress is slow, even if it’s mentally tough for me, even if I occasionally relapse, I knew I wouldn’t just give up," the man shared about his inner resolve.
The very next day, Malley began to lose weight. He adopted a diet focused on high-protein and low-fat and carbohydrate foods, started taking the stairs more often, and bought a VR headset. With it, he could continue playing but also move more. In January 2023, the man began going to the gym. All of this led to the desired results.
In 2025, Malley had to undergo surgery to remove excess skin from his abdomen, arms, and legs. Despite his success, the man continues to maintain a healthy lifestyle and lose weight. "I love myself and my new life more than I ever loved food," he stated.
