The performer stated that he experiences stress every time he has to go through a casting for projects or TV shows. According to Shalyapin, in his youth, his candidacy was often not chosen, which "really affected his psyche." He mentioned that recently he was invited to several programs, but the agreements were ultimately canceled at the last moment because he was "not approved by someone."
"They took some crooked and not very talented people. Well, definitely not taller than me," Shalyapin complained.
