The renowned Latvian NHL legionnaire and coach Sandis Ozoliņš has reached an agreement with his ex-wife Sandra Ozoliņa, under which he is obliged to pay her compensation of 650,000 euros. This became known after the approval of the settlement by the Riga District Court.
According to the reached agreement, Sandra Ozoliņa waives all previously stated claims against her ex-husband, while Ozoliņš, in turn, agrees to pay the specified amount. It was previously reported that the ex-spouse demanded to recover 1.64 million euros from the coach, as well as half of his shares in the company "Golfs & karti," which manages the golf club.
Thus, the parties preferred to resolve the protracted conflict amicably, reducing both the amount of potential payments and the scale of legal disputes.
At the same time, Sandis Ozoliņš remains involved in another legal process — this time with journalist Armand Puče, his long-time business partner. The dispute concerns the decisions of the meetings of the participants of the company "Golfs & karti," which manages the golf course in Riga, on the shores of Lake Kisezers.
Armand Puče has approached the court with a request to declare the decision of the company participants' meeting on December 9, 2024, invalid. The Economic Court initially dismissed the claim; however, this decision was appealed, and the proceedings continue.
Previously, Puče had already achieved success in a similar process related to the decisions of the meeting on October 28, 2024. At that time, the court declared the amendments to the company's articles of association invalid, as the journalist had not been notified of the meeting and did not participate in the voting. The Supreme Court refused to consider the cassation appeal, and the decision came into legal force.
The history of the business partnership between Ozoliņš and Puče spans over two decades. In 2002, when Sandis Ozoliņš was playing in the National Hockey League, he founded a golf course in Riga, and Armand Puče became the director of the "Ozo" golf club. Puče left this position in 2022. Currently, the company "Golfs & karti," registered in 1999, is owned 90% by Ozoliņš and 10% by Puče. The company's share capital amounts to 1.398 million euros. In 2024, the company's turnover reached 370,270 euros, which is 12% less than the previous year's figure, and the profit amounted to 12,240 euros.
Ozoliņš and Puče are connected not only by their joint business but also by creative collaboration: Puče is the author of several biographical books dedicated to the famous hockey player. However, the parties prefer not to comment on the reasons for the current legal conflicts, limiting themselves to brief official statements.
