Мамина ляля всегда в радость.

The star artist has recovered after a difficult divorce.

Polina Gagarina is one of the most private singers in show business. The artist rarely gives interviews and almost never speaks to journalists during press events.

In 2014, the performer married photographer Dmitry Iskhakov, and three years later, she gave birth to their daughter Mia. Polina hid her daughter's face for a long time and first showed the girl to the public when she turned six. In 2023, Gagarina performed the song "Lullaby" with her daughter during her concert.

Fans wondered why the artist kept them in suspense for so long and did not reveal the child's face. Gagarina only posted photos of Mia from behind. And now, after several years, the singer finally explained what made her hide Mia from prying eyes.

It was all about the fear of public opinion. Polina was afraid that internet users might criticize the girl. "When I started posting pictures of Mia, it was very hard for me psychologically. Because if someone wrote that she was somehow not right, I would already be standing there with a gun. I would tear apart anyone who criticized my children; I’m a crazy mother," the performer said on Ksenia Sobchak's program "What Do They Think of You?".

For the same reason, Gagarina rarely gives interviews. The artist tries to protect her loved ones and not cause them discomfort. Her older child, 18-year-old Andrey, does not like publications on the internet at all.

"I always think about life globally, ahead. And first of all, I think about my children's lives. For example, my son. He not only worries about me but also gets angry, wondering why they said that, how could they. And watching your child suffer is just the most disgusting thing," explains 38-year-old Polina. Polina divorced Dmitry Iskhakov in 2020. However, the couple managed to maintain a good relationship, primarily for the sake of their daughter. At the end of November, journalists captured the couple together at the "Midnight Ball" ballroom dance evening organized by Maria Melnikova, the wife of rapper Mot. The parents stayed close to Mia all evening, and while the little girl watched the competitions sitting on the floor near the stage, they continued to chat sweetly.

"Yes, he had a hard time letting me go. The most important thing is what we have now. Everything is good now. Dima comes over just like he used to. Especially when I’m on tour, it’s like we’re changing the guard," the singer shared in an interview with Nadezhda Strelets.

In March 2022, Latvia and Estonia banned Gagarina from entering for supporting Russia's invasion of Ukraine. In November 2022, her concerts in Kazakhstan were canceled due to her support for the invasion of Ukraine.

On January 7, 2023, against the backdrop of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, she was added to Ukraine's sanctions list for "supporting Russian occupiers and the brutal war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine," which implies asset blocking, complete cessation of commercial operations, and suspension of economic and financial obligations.

On February 3, 2023, she was included in Canada's sanctions list for being involved in spreading Russian disinformation and propaganda. Earlier, Gagarina had been listed by FBK as a corrupt individual and war inciter, with a proposal for international sanctions against her due to her participation in concerts supporting the war against Ukraine.

On June 24, 2024, Gagarina was included in the sanctions list of the European Union:

Gagarina regularly performs at state propaganda events, for example, in honor of the illegal annexation of four Ukrainian regions or the anniversary of the annexation of Crimea... Since the beginning of Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine, Polina Gagarina has managed to earn significant income from her frequent participation in state-sponsored propaganda events. Thus, she benefits from the government of the Russian Federation, which is responsible for the annexation of Crimea and the destabilization of Ukraine ("Official Journal of the European Union," Brussels, June 24, 2024).

On July 4, 2024, after the Lithuanian Radio and Television Commission's appeal to Google demanding the removal of accounts of individuals included in the EU sanctions lists, YouTube blocked Gagarina's official channel. Previously, her page and tracks had been removed from streaming services Apple Music and Spotify. On August 26, 2025, it became known that Gagarina was denied entry to Kazakhstan, canceling previously scheduled concerts.
