The Moscow City Court recognized a photograph featuring members of the British rock band Queen during the filming of the music video for 'I Want to Break Free' as 'LGBT propaganda,' reports the online publication 'Vyorstka,' citing LETA and CURRENT TIME TV.

The court rejected the appeal of Moscow resident David Gevondyan. He was previously found guilty of 'LGBT propaganda' and fined for posting a photograph on the social network VKontakte, which depicted men in women's clothing.

However, the district court's decisions did not clarify which specific image was being referred to.

In his appeal, Gevondyan stated that this was not 'LGBT propaganda' but a photograph from the filming of a Queen music video, featuring the band's members.

The court dismissed this argument.

"The placement on an internet resource of a photograph depicting members of the band Queen in women's clothing does not have a musical context, considering the general nature of the disseminated information," the decision of the Moscow City Court states.

The court regarded Gevondyan's actions as propaganda, as they 'give a positive assessment of non-traditional sexual relationships, presented as natural and justified,' and 'distort the understanding of the relationship between men and women, undermining family values.'
