The 'Game of Thrones' star spoke about the unpleasant incident in an interview dedicated to her new project. According to the actress, one of the filming shifts ended with her sustaining a rib injury due to the high physical demands during the intimate episodes.
The series is set in Moscow in the 1970s. Clarke's character uses seduction as a tool for espionage and recruiting KGB agents. One day, the actress had to participate in scenes simulating intimacy with three partners consecutively for several hours. This, she said, was the cause of her injury.
Clarke's co-star in the project, Hailee Lou Richardson, confirmed the incident, ironically noting the actress's fragile physique. Emilia later clarified that the injury was not a serious fracture and that she has almost fully recovered at this point.
Despite the incident, Clarke continued to participate in filming, and the incident did not affect the production of the series. The actress admitted that she views what happened with humor and considers such situations part of the professional risks of acting.
