Popular TikTok blogger Constance Li Wen Mei, known online as @milkbredi, revealed the most common phrase men use when breaking up with their partners. Her observation caught the attention of the Mirror publication.
According to the blogger, the phrase "You are too good for me," which a man might say shortly before a breakup, is not a compliment but a way to lower expectations from the relationship. Typically, this is followed by a decrease in the number of dates and messages, and long pauses in communication. After such words, a woman may be left with a broken heart, warned Li Wen Mei.
She added that this phrase has gradually replaced another one for men — "It's not you, it's me." "When someone tells you that he doesn't deserve you and that you are too good for him, believe him. No, he is not being modest. He knows what his flaws are and knows how wonderful you are. By saying this, he is trying to lower your expectations of him, preparing you for disappointment," she explained.
