19th Century Style Clothing Predicted to Be Popular in 2026

Vogue editors predicted that early 19th-century style clothing will be popular in 2026. The material appeared on the publication's website.

This refers to the 'regencycore' aesthetic, which draws on the fashion of the English Regency era. It has become relevant again due to the series 'Bridgerton,' with the premiere of its fourth season scheduled for the end of January. This style is also receiving significant attention from users on the TikTok platform, thanks to the renewed interest in the works of author Jane Austen.

During this period, wardrobes featured empire-style silhouettes with high waists, square necklines, and puffed sleeves. Outfits adorned with velvet details were paired with corsets, opera gloves, and accessories embellished with pearls and feathers.

Currently, such pieces have caught the attention of designers, who showcased reimagined versions on the runway. For instance, at the Louis Vuitton show, a model appeared in a dress with a high waist and thin straps, Dior added lace to an outfit, and a model from Acne Studios wore a corset with a sheer skirt.

In December 2025, editors of Vogue also predicted the return of 2000s-style outfits to fashion in 2026.
