A representative of the Palestinian people enjoys a beautiful life.
The wife of Jordanian King Abdullah II took their shared youngest daughter, 25-year-old Salma, to one of the most picturesque places in southern Jordan, the Wadi Rum desert, where they enjoyed an adrenaline-fueled ride in off-road vehicles together.
"With Salma in Wadi Rum, the heart of Southern Jordan... Beauty unmatched by any other location on the planet," the 55-year-old Rania captioned a series of photos from the trip. "Call me biased, but I simply cannot imagine a more breathtaking place. A must-visit, just a few minutes' drive from our stunning Petra!"
Rania meant that the desert is located near one of the region's main archaeological sites, which is a landmark attraction.
For their desert outing, the queen and her daughter chose casual outfits, opting for comfortable sweatshirts and pants, and wore matching red-and-white keffiyehs, traditional Eastern scarves that protect against heat, dust, and sand.
Rania was born in Kuwait City (Kuwait) to Palestinian parents from Tulkarm (West Bank, Jordanian territory from 1948 to 1967), belonging to the middle bourgeoisie. Rania, the daughter of a pediatrician, excelled in her studies at school and university. She continued her education at foreign institutions: she studied at the New English School in Kuwait and then earned a degree in Business Administration from the American University in Cairo in Egypt.

In the early nineties, Rania's family was forced to flee to Jordan from Kuwait when, after Kuwait was liberated from Iraqi occupation, Palestinians were accused of collaborating with the invaders.
After being denied a managerial position at the Jordanian branch of Apple, Rania moved to the Citibank branch in Amman, owned by the king's sister and brother-in-law, where she met the prince in August 1992. The couple celebrated their wedding on June 10, 1993.

Rania received the title of queen after a three-month official mourning period for the death of King Hussein. Abdullah, the son of Princess Muna, his father's second wife, was declared heir to the throne.
