The Primadonna kept the young star at a distance.
Ekaterina Semyonova (65), performer of the hit "So That You Don’t Drink or Smoke" and participant of the "Christmas Meetings" in the 90s, recalls Alla Pugacheva without enthusiasm. Despite her gratitude for the invitations, she avoided close communication with the Primadonna — Pugacheva behaved arrogantly.
Semyonova never greeted Pugacheva first, as she repeatedly saw how the Primadonna rudely dismissed fans for simply saying "hello" — sending them away in an unprintable manner even for just "hi."
Next to Pugacheva, she always felt uncomfortable: "Pugacheva once asked me, ‘Why don’t you ever come to visit me? Everyone goes, it’s great at my place!’ But I didn’t want to. It’s not that I was afraid of her. But I always felt uncomfortable in her company. We are different."
Semyonova does not understand Pugacheva's departure from Russia, where she had everything. She considers Pugacheva's statements disrespectful to her fans and predicts: the status of a star does not give the right to insult dissenters. "There is no profession on Earth that allows insulting other people... What kind of eyes will you return with after pouring so much crap on our country? On the other hand, probably with ordinary ones. You left as you came back," Semyonova concluded.
On September 16, 2022, the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation included Maxim Galkin, who spoke out against Russia's invasion of Ukraine, in the list of individuals — “foreign agents,” and two days later, on September 18, Pugacheva asked the Russian authorities on Instagram to recognize her as a “foreign agent” following her husband. On October 10, 2022, she published a post on Instagram announcing that she had left Russia for Israel. She currently lives in Cyprus and owns property in Bulgaria.
