Молодой и перспективный.

The promising artist earned about a billion rubles in a year.

20-year-old singer Vanya Dmitrienko has become the most expensive artist in Russia, earning 924 million rubles - about 10 million euros - from just 33 concerts.

Indeed, Grigory Leps, who earned 908 million rubles from 79 performances, is already 63 years old and still sings about a shot of vodka poured 30 years ago.

Nadezhda Kadysheva is 66 years old, and her super hit "Shiroka reka" has been performed since 2003. The poignant lines "We spend our long unloved nights with unloved ones" touched a generation of Zoomers, who paid 900 million rubles for 36 concerts.

Tanya Bulanova is 56 years old, and since the late 1980s, she has still been in the image of a crying teenage girl, whom her older sister surpassed in marriage to her beloved boyfriend. But the result is impressive: 745 million rubles from 149 concerts.

74-year-old ataman and sailor Oleg Gazmanov gave only 12 concerts in a year, earning five million rubles each. But the total is more than 15 times (!) less than 20-year-old Vanya Dmitrienko: 924 million rubles for 33 concerts!

Could the statistics be lying? Is it possible that a fragile boy with musician peers is so popular?

We open Vanya's personal website. It turned out that his tour schedule is booked six months in advance. The nearest concert is in St. Petersburg. Ticket prices range from 8,549 to 75,049 rubles. However, even at these prices, all tickets are sold out.

A thousand dollars for Vanya's concert? That's not the limit. On January 23, Dmitrienko will give a show in Thai Phuket. And while you can stand on the dance floor for 4,700 rubles, the most expensive VIP box will cost… 630,000 rubles (about 7,000 euros). At such prices, earning a billion in a year is quite a realistic target.

But how did a guy from Krasnoyarsk conquer the musical Olympus of Russia? The well-known songwriter, author of hits performed by Yuri Antonov, Dima Bilan, Maryla Rodowicz, and other pop music stars, Sergey Alihanov believes that there is nothing unusual about the rise of the young artist.

"His father is a modest Krasnoyarsk musician, and his mother is a doctor. But it seems that his parents prepared their son for a career as an artist from an early age. By the age of 12, he was noticed at a children's festival by producer Evgeny Orlov, who advised taking the child to Moscow. A year later, Vanya recorded his first track online while simultaneously performing covers. At 15, his first hit 'Venus-Jupiter' was released, for which in 2021 the musician received the 'Golden Gramophone' award, becoming its youngest recipient in history. Then there were joint projects with Grigory Leps..."

"At first, you are next to the 'big ones,' and then you rise above them. And, of course, there is a skillful use of all possible forms for promoting the artist. This is primarily social media, then television. In 2022, Vanya Dmitrienko became the youngest participant in 'Dancing with the Stars,' performed in the show 'Mask,' and filmed in the second season of the program 'Challenge' in 2023, debuting as a judge in the show 'Confetti.' In the same year, he participated in a tribute project for t.A.T.u. and released his first studio album 'Paranoid.' Additionally, he has appeared in several popular series. Thus, he has shown himself to be a very versatile artist.

— Is that enough to fill thousands of halls and sell tickets at the price of new iPhones?

— If people are willing to go to concerts and pay, then yes. Our audience has longed for new names and faces. The singing characters from 'Dom-2' and other upstarts, who have never learned to sing, could not satisfy the demand for young professionals. That's why Vanya hit the mass demand spot.

— Is there anything wrong with his album being called 'Paranoid'?

— I think the psychiatric diagnosis is only in the title. Dmitrienko works in the genre of melodic pop-rock with trendy rap elements. This is definitely not the abyss of despair from 'Nirvana' and not the infernal fantasies of the great paranoid Ozzy Osbourne. Zemfira's hits are far more tragic than the youthful experiences of Vanya Dmitrienko.

"I collected 'Paranoid' from songs that were written over the last 3-4 years at different moments in my life. In it, I wanted to show the stages of my growing up and how my thoughts have changed over the years. I chose such a title because I can partly call myself paranoid. We often make a mountain out of a molehill, but if we try to assess a particular problem soberly, we will find that not everything is lost," Vanya Dmitrienko said about the concept of the album.

In simpler terms, anxiety is present, but hope for the better has not died. Sociologists in 2025 determined that this state encompassed the majority of Russians. Perhaps that is why Vanya Dmitrienko's songs and image resonate with the mass audience.
