Recently, Amazon Prime Video released a teaser trailer for the biographical film "Madden" directed by David O. Russell, known for films such as "Silver Linings Playbook," "American Hustle," and "The Fighter."

The film will tell the story of John Madden (played by the birthday boy Nicolas Cage) — an outstanding American football coach and commentator for the National Football League (NFL). The plot will cover key moments in Madden's life and career: the unexpected victory with the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl 1977, collaboration with EA Sports, and the creation of the Madden NFL video game franchise.

Nicolas Cage (real name — Nicolas Kim Coppola; born January 7, 1964, Long Beach, Los Angeles, California, USA) is an American actor in film, television, and voice acting, film director, and film producer. He is a recipient of the Academy Award and Golden Globe Awards.

Cage is known for his vast range of roles: from Hollywood blockbusters and festival masterpieces to low-budget comedies and outright failed projects. Due to the nature of his film career and the lack of a clear typecast, Cage has gained a cult status among fans of his work and the title of one of the most controversial actors of modern times.

Despite his high fees, he experienced financial difficulties for a time, partly due to expenses from legal battles with his ex-wives, partly due to the extraordinarily lavish lifestyle he chose, and partly due to financial miscalculations made by himself and his personal accountant. Nicolas Cage owed $14 million to the government in taxes.

In 2008, he faced financial troubles and sold his coastal estate in Middletown, Rhode Island. Purchased in July 2007 for $15.7 million, it was sold for 2.5 times less — for $6.2 million. In 2009, he was forced to sell the medieval castle Neidstein, which he had acquired in 2006. Cage also had to put his house in the prestigious Los Angeles neighborhood of Bel-Air up for sale for $35 million. The buyer, whose name was not disclosed, purchased the house in November 2010 for $10.5 million. In an interview with GQ magazine, the actor reported that he had paid off his debts, allowing him to be more selective about projects.
