American actor George Clooney and his wife Amal have become citizens of France. According to Paris Match, their children also received passports.
Last month, Clooney praised France, its privacy laws, culture, and language. What attracted him the most about this country was that children are not photographed by paparazzi near schools.
In addition to French citizenship, the Clooney family retains American citizenship. U.S. President Donald Trump praised the actor and his family for obtaining passports. He called it good news.
"Good news! George and Amal Clooney, two of the worst political prognosticators of all time, have officially become citizens of France, which, unfortunately, is in the midst of a serious crime problem due to absolutely terrible immigration management - about the same as we have with Sleepy Joe Biden," he wrote on Truth Social.
Trump noted that Clooney has received more publicity for his politics than for his "very few and completely mediocre movies."
"He was not a movie star at all - he was just an average guy who constantly complained about common sense in politics. Let's make America great again," Trump added.
