Famous Hollywood actor and director and his wife found dead in their home in Los Angeles

Director and actor Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle Singer Reiner were found dead in their home in Los Angeles. According to police, the incident is being investigated as an 'obvious homicide.'

A family representative confirmed the tragic news in a statement to the media: “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Michelle and Rob Reiner. Our hearts are broken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this incredibly difficult time.”

The Los Angeles Fire Department reported that it received a call for medical assistance shortly after 3:30 PM and discovered the bodies of a 78-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman inside the home. Reiner turned 78 in March.

According to the police, a family member entered the house and found the deceased. Detectives are working at the scene. Investigators believe the couple died from stab wounds. Sources told the Associated Press that one family member is being questioned. Media reports indicate that this is the couple's son, Nick Reiner.

Investigators believe the Reiners sustained stab wounds, and one family member is being questioned, according to a law enforcement representative who spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity.

Los Angeles authorities have not confirmed the identities of the individuals found dead in the home in the upscale Brentwood neighborhood on the west side of the city, where many celebrities reside.

Los Angeles Police Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton stated at a press conference that the official identification of the two bodies will be conducted by the Los Angeles County coroner later, adding that the investigation will continue throughout the night.

Rob Reiner was one of Hollywood's most prolific directors. His films “This Is Spinal Tap,” “A Few Good Men,” “When Harry Met Sally,” and “The Princess Bride” became classics of the 1980s and 1990s.

As an actor, he gained fame for his role as Michael “Meathead” Stivic in the 1970s television series “All in the Family,” where he starred alongside Carroll O'Connor. This work earned him two Emmy Awards.

The son of legendary comedian Carl Reiner, Rob had been married to photographer and producer Michelle Singer Reiner since 1989. They met while filming “When Harry Met Sally” and raised three children.
