In China, a girl married the rescuer who pulled her from the rubble.
In the Chinese city of Changsha, Hunan province, a girl married the rescuer who pulled her from the rubble. This was reported by the publication AsiaOne.
The bride is 28-year-old Liu Ximei, and the groom is 40-year-old Liang Zhibin. They met after the devastating earthquake that occurred in Sichuan in 2008. Liu Ximei, who was 11 years old at the time, was trapped under a collapsed two-story building. Liang Zhibin participated in the search and rescue operation.
In 2020, fate brought them together again. The girl's mother recognized Liang Zhibin in a diner, told her daughter about it, and she shyly approached him to say hello. After that, they began to chat on the WeChat messenger. A few years later, Liu Ximei proposed to him.
"I fell in love with him not out of gratitude," the girl says. "When I got to know him better, I gradually realized that he is the person I want to spend my whole life with."
It was previously reported that a woman in China married a firefighter who saved her life. She had climbed out onto a ledge from a burning high-rise building, slipped, and was hanging on the edge. The firefighter managed to grab her hand and pull her back in.
