The beauty contest 'Miss Universe 2025' in Thailand has turned into a major scandal: participants claim that the winner was chosen in advance and express dissatisfaction with the organization of the show.
Judge Resigns Due to Questionable Procedure
Omar Arfush, one of the judges, publicly withdrew from participation, stating that the organization created an "improvised jury" to select 30 finalists before the girls took the stage in the preliminary round. Contest representatives denied these accusations, however, many participants, who wished to remain anonymous, confirmed the discrepancy between official procedures and the stated rules.
Contestants Unhappy with Transparency
According to the girls, the results of the final became known to participants and the public long before the show. "Many contestants sacrificed their personal lives and prepared for this moment for a year, believing in the honesty of the organization," one of them said. "It turned out that the top ten was determined 15 days before the final."
Passports and Visa Restrictions as a Factor of Unfairness
Some participants also pointed to bureaucratic barriers. For example, the representative from Côte d'Ivoire, Olivia Yase, needed to obtain visas for 175 countries to participate in the year-long program of the competition, making her chances of winning virtually impossible.
Refusal of Titles as Protest
After a series of scandals, many contestants publicly expressed their dissatisfaction and even refused their titles in protest against the alleged dishonesty and lack of transparency in the process.
