Doctor Myasnikov advised those who want to quit smoking to avoid spicy food.
General practitioner and television host Alexander Myasnikov named ways that can help quit smoking once and for all. The doctor advised those who want to get rid of the bad habit to temporarily give up coffee and tea, as well as limit alcohol consumption. He explained that these drinks usually trigger the desire to smoke. Spicy and salty foods have the same effect, Myasnikov warned.
"Change your lifestyle, avoid smoking companies, try to keep yourself busy to distract from the thought: 'I'll smoke one last time, one cigarette won't harm...' It will, and it will harm a lot!" the specialist emphasized. He added that physical activity and traveling help distract and cope with the craving for cigarettes.
