At my fifty-plus years, I am finally being given roles of adult men.
In the series "Sanctioner," created by the author of the hit "Word of a Guy" Zhora Kryzhovnikov, Nagiev plays the lead role of billionaire Vasily Baranov, who suddenly loses all his money. The disgraced businessman must start life over in the provincial town of Semibolotsk, where his ex has become the wife of the mayor, played by Marat Basharov. However, Vasily is not ready to accept this and wants to win back his former love (Lyubov Tolkaliina).
On set, Basharov admitted that he is playing an important official for the first time, something he has long dreamed of. "I remember how I approached my actor's trailer, which had 'Marat Basharov, Mayor' written on it. I've never had anything like that before. Of course, I am happy that at my fifty-plus years, I am finally being given roles of adult men who make decisions at such a level," he said.
The comedy also features Boris Dergachev, Anna Ukolova, Alexander Ilyin — the elder, and singer Zivert, who tried her hand at acting for the first time, playing the role of a passionate Italian woman.
The series has been quite a challenge for Dmitry Nagiev: according to the showman, the long run of 17 episodes with stunt scenes was not easy for him. During filming, his character flew in a helicopter and a hot air balloon, ran naked, tamed a horse, drowned in a lake, fell from a cliff, jumped from a roof, saved his father in the woods, and encountered other adventures.
