Все, что ему нужно, это покой.

He is the only musician to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three times.

The local council ignored the request of 80-year-old legendary guitarist Eric Clapton.

Clapton appealed to the authorities in Surrey Hills to prohibit his neighbor from renovating his house. The musician has lived in the English countryside for over 50 years and values it most for its privacy. This privacy, however, seems set to be disrupted soon. The fact is that Eric's neighbor has decided to build a huge glass terrace overlooking the musician's pool.

"As a public figure, I believe that privacy is a personal and professional necessity for me. I often hold meetings here, including with the media. This house has been my sanctuary for over 50 years. A place of solitude and peace," Clapton explained in his petition to stop the neighbor's construction. However, the local council issued a permit.

Eric Patrick Clapton (born March 30, 1945, in Ripley, Surrey, England) is a British rock musician (composer, guitarist, vocalist). He is a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE).

In the 1960s, Clapton played with blues-rock bands John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, The Yardbirds, and Cream. His musical style evolved over time, but he always held on to his blues roots. Clapton worked extensively as a solo artist and as a session musician. He earned the ironic nickname "Slowhand," which became the title of one of his most successful albums (1977). The most successful single of Clapton's solo career was his cover of Bob Marley’s song "I Shot the Sheriff," which topped the American charts in September 1974. In 1993, Clapton was awarded Grammy Awards in all the most prestigious categories: "Album of the Year" (MTV Unplugged), "Song of the Year" ("Tears in Heaven"), and "Record of the Year" ("Tears in Heaven").

Eric Clapton is one of the most respected and influential rock musicians. He is the only musician to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three times: as a solo artist and as a member of the bands Cream and The Yardbirds. Clapton ranks second in the 2011 reissued Rolling Stone list of the greatest guitarists of all time, behind Jimi Hendrix. In the previous version of the list, he was ranked fourth, after Hendrix, Duane Allman, and B.B. King. He also appears in the same magazine's list of the greatest artists of all time, both as a solo artist and as a member of Cream and The Yardbirds.
