On October 2, Latvia's Foreign Minister Baiba Braže included Russian actor Stanislav Sadal'skiy in the list of undesirable persons, banning him from entering the country for an indefinite period. In response, he made quite offensive remarks about the minister.
In early October, Latvia's Foreign Minister Baiba Braže announced the inclusion of Russian actor Stanislav Sadal'skiy in the list of persons non grata. The decision was made based on the second part of Article 61 of the Immigration Law and means a permanent ban on entering the country.
⛔️ I have decided to include Russian citizen Stanislav SADAĻSKI in the list of undesirable persons for Latvia and to impose a ban on entry to 🇱🇻 for an indefinite period.
The decision was made in accordance with the second part of Article 61 of the Immigration Law.

According to the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sadal'skiy publicly supports Russian aggression against Ukraine and spreads claims that the conflict was allegedly provoked by the Ukrainian government. The actor had also previously visited Jūrmala, where he stated that he was glad to speak Russian rather than 'this incomprehensible language.'
In response to the decision of the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sadal'skiy stated in an interview with Russian media that he 'used to be proud of Latvia as a showcase of the Soviet Empire,' but now considers it 'the backwoods of Europe.' He also claimed that Braže allegedly attended his performances and 'said good words.' At the same time, the artist ironically invited the minister to Moscow.
'She came to my performances and told me very good words. Well, fine. She is not letting me into Latvia for an indefinite period – but I am letting her into Moscow. Let her come to me, my apartment is at her service. I have a sufficiently large place, there will be a separate room. I invite the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia to stay with me,' Sadal'skiy told Russian journalists.
