A person considers themselves omnipotent, capable of solving any issues, placing themselves at the center of any events.
Psychologist Olga Reinhardt suggested on her channel to learn how to recognize non-obvious early signs of dementia, using 76-year-old Alla Pugacheva as an example. According to Olga, these signs were clearly manifested multiple times during the recent high-profile interview with the prima donna.
All events and situations are assessed only from the perspective of how she was admired. People too. For instance, a husband is good because he has a "talent for loving me." Or in a grandiose manner: "You should have seen how I was greeted in any hotel in Germany. Everyone stood at attention," "I lived to make someone a little happier." Every memory boils down to the fact that she is the only one of her kind in the world. Her own opinion on any issue, including the political agenda, is presented as the only correct one.
Overvalued Ideas
A person considers themselves omnipotent, capable of solving any issues, placing themselves at the center of any events. "I apologize for not being able to do anything to keep Jokhar alive," Pugacheva laments. As if it was within her power to save the life of a bandit. By the way, she did not mention where and how she met Dudayev, whom she calls decent and intelligent. Most likely, she was paid a lot of money to sing at a private party.
By the way, in her remark about the popularity of Nadezhda Kadysheva, an overvalued idea also manifests - that everything is bad in Russia, and people lack optimism, faith, and joy. Therefore, they go to the concert "to forget about everything that is happening and at least rest a little."
Magical Thinking
The sick person finds "mystical" coincidences and signs in everything, pulling absurd explanations by the ears and is not averse to attributing supernatural abilities to themselves. Alla Borisovna recalls how she was foretold a suitor named Georgy. But in her long life, she has never met anyone like that. Only when Galkin* bought a statue of Saint George did she realize - here he is, her protector Georgy.
She says about herself: she inherited magical abilities from her grandmother. Supposedly, "I supported my mother, she had five heart attacks, and each time I pulled her out of there," on stage she "holds with her hands" some mass.
Confabulation
This is the substitution of forgotten details with false memories, often with dramatic fabricated details. Pugacheva talks about her brother. He served in Semipalatinsk on the Chinese border and was exposed to radiation there. But from the former testing ground to the border with China is about 500 kilometers. It seems like a minor detail, many might not have thought about it, but this indicates deviations.
The further story about how her brother was sent to Afghanistan, where he ran for cover under bombardment, holding hands with a comrade for some reason, and when they reached it, he was left with only one hand, also raises doubts. And all these tragic "memories," on one hand, show how terrible the USSR was, and on the other - were needed to tie to the current agenda: "Can you imagine the trauma of the people who are fighting now?" As if armed conflicts can, in principle, occur without casualties.
Violation of Logic and Cause-and-Effect Relationships
While talking about her marriage to Kirkorov, Pugacheva explains: his mother begged her on her deathbed to help the boy. So she married Filia. There is no logic - she could have supported him in other ways, rather than putting a stamp and getting married. Ekaterina Gordeeva** was also surprised, asking why she got married at all? "It was meant to be," the singer cut in.
Or here’s the phrase "I live from war to war." What wars, how they affected her - it doesn’t matter, the main thing is to add a mournful pathos. However, some kind of her own, invented logic can be traced in other examples - with Dudayev, with Georgy, with Kadysheva, and practically in everything. So this is clearly not an accidental slip or distraction.
Dementia is a condition in which neurons in the brain die faster than normal. A person loses memory, familiar skills, the ability to think, and then to take care of themselves.
The problem is that the first signs of impending senility are difficult to track: they are often mistaken for old age grumbling, distraction, forgetfulness, or a spoiled character. By showing leniency towards age and dementia symptoms, relatives miss the stage at which personality destruction can be delayed with medications and various training. And when it comes to the main symptoms, it will not be possible to reverse the process - no drugs for dementia have been invented yet.
