The international music festival Laima Rendezvous Jūrmala will take place this year from July 24 to 26 at the Dzintari concert hall. The festival organizers are pleased to announce that on Saturday, July 25, one of the brightest voices of contemporary pop music - Monetochka - will participate for the first time.
The artist, whose real name is Elizaveta Girdymova, has become a symbol of courage and artistic freedom. Her work is characterized by literarily precise lyrics, refined stage aesthetics, elegant irony, and the ability to transcend geographical and linguistic boundaries. Since February 2022, when the artist promptly left Russia and openly spoke out against the war in Ukraine, her voice has gained a new - political and humanitarian - dimension. Together with rapper Noize MC, as part of charitable tours, Monetochka has helped raise over 400,000 euros in support of Ukrainian refugees.
This year's performance at Dzintari will be special: Monetochka will take the stage alongside the Laima Vaikule festival orchestra. This format will give the artist's most famous compositions a new sound space and emotional depth, creating a unique experience possible only in a live performance.
"Monetochka's participation is an organic continuation of the festival's values: to give a stage to artists whose voices combine artistic strength and human honesty," notes Laima Vaikule.
Since its debut in 2015, Laima Rendezvous Jūrmala has transformed into a significant cultural attraction, where the traditions of different countries and musical genres converge in a unified artistic space. The festival has become one of the most anticipated events of the summer, consistently faithful to live sound and capable of producing unexpected duets and unique programs on the Dzintari stage, impossible in any other context. It is this professional scale and unwavering quality that have made the festival a notable phenomenon in the region's musical life.
