The actress will appear as the elf girl Seren, who is described as the "trusted and deadly agent of King Thranduil." Thranduil will be played by Lee Pace.
The film will also feature Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Elijah Wood as Frodo, Kate Winslet, Jamie Dornan, and Leo Woodall. Serkis will not only direct but also play the titular role. Peter Jackson will serve as producer. The world premiere is scheduled for December 17, 2027.
The new film will tell the story of Aragorn's dangerous quest to capture Gollum before he reveals the location of the One Ring to Sauron. The plot, based on Tolkien's notes, takes place between 'The Hobbit' and 'The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.'
