The creators of the project decided to forgo computer graphics in creating the main character. Their idea is that using a real dog should make the story more lively and emotional, and the relationships between the characters more convincing. The plot of the series will take viewers back in time and tell how the famous Mystery Inc. team came to be. The events will unfold during summer camp, where Shaggy and his longtime friend Daphne Blake encounter a mysterious incident. It all begins with the appearance of a lost Great Dane puppy, which turns out to be connected to a mysterious supernatural crime.
Later, Velma Dinkley and Fred Jones join the investigation. The roles of the iconic characters will be played by Mckenna Grace, Abby Ryder Fortson, and Maxwell Jenkins. Paul Walter Hauser is also part of the cast, but details about his character are being kept secret.
Filming of the series has been taking place in Atlanta since April 2026. The creators promise to showcase the first joint investigation of the future team of mystery hunters and reveal the story of how the characters met, which fans of the franchise have never seen on screen before.
